- This hardy plant is a fast-growing stem plant suitable for beginners. It can grow in low to high lighting and is good at consuming excess nutrients in the water to help prevent algae problems. Because of its fast growth, water sprite can quickly over-shadow smaller plants and overrun the tank, especially if CO2 is in use.
- Water sprite has can also be grown as as a floating plant. It develops broad, round leaves and may even grow out of the water. When rooted, the crown will grow large with many stems and fronds, which is good for raising livebearers and other types of baby fish.
